Expansion in Carthage

The North Country Alliance is proud to support Widrick Truck and Diesel Service and looks forward to the positive impact this project will have on the community.

Widrick Truck and Diesel Service, owned by Joel Widrick, has been part of the Carthage community since 2007. What began as a single-bay diesel repair garage has grown into a 7,500-square-foot, four-bay service center, evolving to meet growing needs.

Widrick has expanded its services from diesel repair to a full-service center offering large truck transmission repairs, brakes, and advanced diagnostics. To keep up with increasing demand, the company recently secured funding from Community Bank and the North Country Alliance for a significant expansion.

The project will add six new service bays, a paint booth, and Dyno-Drive equipment. These upgrades will help Widrick reduce its current 30-day service backlog, eliminate outsourcing, and improve overall efficiency and turnaround times.

The company also has a strong partnership with SUNY Canton’s technical assistance program, hiring several graduates in recent years. The expansion will create 2-3 new mechanic positions, continuing to provide opportunities for skilled workers in the area.
