New Member Spotlight: Olympic Authority

New New York State created the Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) to manage facilities after the 1980 Olympic Winter Games at Lake Placid. Today, the Olympic Authority is an economic engine for upstate New York overseeing the management of multiple venues including the Olympic Center, Olympic Jumping Complex, Mt Van Hoevenberg, and the State’s three ski resorts: Whiteface, Gore, and Belleayre Mountain.

Working collaboratively with public and private organizations to drive tourism, athletic training, and large-scale events, the Olympic Authority attracts over 1 million visitors a year to its regions and generated a $341.8 million dollar economic impact in the 22-23 fiscal year.

Liz Mezzetti, the Olympic Authority Director of Sales and Marketing, represents the organziation at the NCA and serves on the NCA's Board of Directors.
