Dear Osprey Students and Families,
The next three weeks are chock full of special events and unusual schedules and we want to be sure you have all the information you need to help us all wrap up the 2021/22 school year gracefully. Please read carefully, and reach out with any questions.
Professional Dress
- a button-down shirt and tie, shirt with finished neck, sweater or blouse;
- a nice pair of slacks (no jeans), skirt or dress;
- dark socks to match trousers and dress shoes (no sneakers, no excessively high heels)
Faculty will remind students and will assist students in planning. Please communicate with an adult at school if procuring professional dress clothes is cost-prohibitive; we will find a way to help and have items to lend.

May 31-June 2: TPOL Week
All 9th through 11th grade students will complete Transitional Presentations of Learnings. As with POLs in December, TPOLs are individually scheduled; student schedules will vary this week depending upon when they are completing and paneling for TPOLs. There is no school on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 and no TPOLs will be scheduled for that date. Successful completion of TPOL is required to transition to the next grade level; it is not unusual to be asked to refine and redo a TPOL and students need to be prepared to return another day if they do not pass the first time.
9th Grade TPOLs
Ninth graders will individually present to a panel of faculty and peers; parents are welcome to attend with an invitation from their student. Ninth grade students will complete their TPOLs on Tuesday May 31 and Wednesday June 1. Any student not reaching presentation expectations will be asked to refine and make up the presentation on Thursday June 2. Families should plan to stay in town through this date. The 9th grade team will share the TPOL Schedule with students and families by Monday May 23.
10th Grade TPOLs
Sophomores will be focusing on the culture of their class, and how their values, beliefs, and behaviors contribute to building that culture. They will be asked to reflect on this year as well as look ahead to the class culture they want to create next year. This will be done in individual presentations followed by a question and answer session with a teacher and student panel on Tuesday May 31, Wednesday June 1 or Thursday June 2. Students will be scheduled for one day of presenting and one day of paneling; all presenting and paneling will be done in their current pods. On the day they present, they will need to be here for only 30 minutes. On the day they panel, they will need to attend for the morning (8:30-12:00) or the afternoon (12:30-3:30). View the sophomore TPOL schedule here. Any student with scheduling issues should contact Lori Fisher as soon as possible. Parents are welcome to attend with an invitation from their student. Students who do not meet the standard of performance on their first time through their TPOL will be rescheduled for a re-do on Thursday June 2.
11th Grade TPOLs
Juniors will do individual presentations about their LINK Internships and consider next steps in their career and college paths for a panel of their peers and teachers for TPOLs; parents and LINK mentors are welcome and encouraged to attend. View the junior TPOL Schedule here. Students should reach out directly to Steve Smith if they have any insurmountable conflicts with the timing of their TPOL.
The last day of school is Thursday June 2, though some students will finish before then if they successfully complete their TPOL and paneling responsibilities earlier in the week.
There WILL be a Hub Bus from DHS to AHS on Tuesday May 31 and Wednesday June 1, morning Hub Bus on Thursday June 2 but NO Hub Bus in the afternoon on Thursday June 2. There will be NO catered lunch during TPOL week.
We recognize that the end of the school year can be a bit of a whirlwind and there are many details to track. As always, we invite you to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for all you do at home to support your student as we all work toward finishing the year strong!
