class of 2024 strike a pose while taking a break from designing a native plant sensory garden at the Juniper School during Sophomore Inspire Week
Greetings Ospreys,

Many thanks to all our Ospreys who purchased and sold coffee during our Desert Sun Coffee Fundraiser, which raised $2900 for our school! Coffee has arrived and is in the AHS main office ready for students to pick up. Congratulations to our top three sellers, Maddox Burkhart, Julia Downing and Vista DeMarco, each who earned a Bread or Cream Bean Berry gift card. We appreciate the support of the generous local businesses who helped make this fundraiser possible.

We wrapped up Sophomore Inspire Week today, and the AHS class of 2024 has spent the past three days out in the field, building connections and job skills while doing good for others. It's been so great to dive back into experiential, community-based learning, a hallmark of an Animas education. Stay tuned for the full report from our Quillspreys, coming in next week's News from the Nest. In the meantime, enjoy some photos from the week below and over on the AHS Facebook page.

Students in Torrey Baldwin's Math 9 class have created final projects for their 3rd unit, "Solve It!" that are currently on display on the AHS Math Department website and in the hallway of the Michael Ackerman Wing. A couple of examples in addition to Mitchell Bidart's gymnastics project, which we shared last week: Alex Larson and Wells Wait explored how they might set up and solve a system of equations with 10 variables, and Makenna Stephensen, after joining AHS this semester, paired up with Rilee Lytle to create and solve this problem about an "artist on a rampage." Check out all the projects here.
