February 5, 2021
Greetings Ospreys,

We are so glad to be able to see our students back on campus next week! Our New Master Schedule goes into effect Monday, February 8:

  • In person days will run from 8:25am to 12:25pm for all grades

  • In-person classes will once again be on Monday/Tuesday for 9th and 10th grade, Thursday/Friday for 11th and 12th grades

  • Students will no longer be required to complete online Daily Health Screening Forms before coming on campus; please do not come to campus if you are exhibiting any Covid symptoms.

  • Core classes continue to meet online Monday/Tuesday for 11th an 12th, Thursday/Friday for 9th and 10th

  • Wednesdays remain set aside for online electives, with campus closed for deep cleaning

  • See details about grade-level schedules for in-person and home-based days here. You can find a link to the latest version of the schedule right on the homepage of the AHS website.

Our expectation is that students will leave campus when classes end at 12:30 and work independently off campus in the afternoon. Teachers will remain on campus until 4:00 to work with a small handful of students who require targeted support, but we are not offering a general option for students to stay past the end of classes. Please email libby.cowles@animashighschool.com if there are special circumstances that require your student to remain on campus past 12:30.

Students may take 9R buses from home to DHS in the morning, hop on the Hub Bus and get to AHS in time for 8:25 classes. When we release at 12:25, students can take the Hub bus to DHS and then take their bus route home; because 9R middle and high schools are also doing half days, bus routes from DHS to various neighborhoods will be available shortly after AHS students arrive at DHS. Any student who plans to ride the Hub Bus must complete the Durango 9R School Bus Rider Registration; please visit the 9R Transportation webpage to access instructions on how to complete and submit transportation forms.
Enrollment Open for Fall 2021
AHS enrollment for fall 2021 is open, with a lottery on March 1 if interest exceeds available spots in any grade level. We have limited spots available in 9th, 10th and 11th grade. For more information about enrollment, or to complete an Intent to Enroll Form for New Students, visit http://animashighschool.com/how-to-enroll/. As we are currently unable to offer Shadow Days, prospective students and families are strongly encouraged to attend an online Information Session; the next one is next Tuesday, February 9, at 12:30pm. To RSVP, contact libby.cowles@animashighschool.com. Current 9th, 10th and 11th grade students will receive fall 2021 registration materials in March--no need to do anything until then.

Enjoy the weekend and thank you for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
