Intent to Enroll by March 3 will be entered in our enrollment lottery. We will host an
Information Session next Thursday, January 17 from 5:30 to 6:30. We encourage prospective students and families to attend to learn more about how we use project-based learning in a small school setting to prepare all students for college, career and life.
Shadow Days take place every Thursday beginning January 24; to schedule, contact Bridget Stowers at [email protected] or (970) 247-2474.
It is not necessary for current students to complete Intent to Enroll at this time; families will receive information about re-enrollment in early March.
Our
Board of Directors has been hard at work preparing our
BEST Grant application in the hopes of securing funding for our permanent facility. The Design Advisory Group is nearing the end of their collaboration with
Humphries Poli Architects and we are reviewing two preliminary school designs. These are exciting times for AHS and we will keep you updated as we continue to move towards building our permanent home.
The next
Fundraising Committee Meeting is Monday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 and the
Board of Directors Meeting is Wednesday, 5:30 to 7:30, both at AHS and open to all. The Board will also have a retreat the following Sunday, January 20, 10:00am to 2:00pm at the R Space in downtown Durango.
Enjoy the weekend and thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
Our seniors have embarked upon the research phase of
Senior Project. For the next two months, they will work on their Senior Theses, crafting a college-level 10-20 page paper about a topic they've chosen to explore. Once they've completed their theses, they will defend them in TED-talk style presentations. Finally, at the end of the semester, they will turn theory into practice, developing and implementing action projects connected to their research findings.
Throughout the semester, we'll highlight a few individual Senior Projects along the way--stay tuned!
