junior Simon Donnaway gearing up for State Championships at the pep rally this afternoon
Dear Osprey Community,
There's been plenty of school pride on display this week for Spirit Week, spearheaded by Student Council, and today--Osprey Spirit Day--was an especially big day for participation. The week culminated in an Animas-Style Pep Rally this afternoon, complete creative school cheers and killer bike tricks. Be sure to head on over to the
AHS Facebook page to check out all the fun photos.
We are all so proud of the AHS Mountain Biking Team for a great season of riding, and excited for the team members who will be competing in theColorado High School Mountain Biking League's State Championships in Durango this weekend. We hope to see lots of Osprey support at the races on Saturday and Sunday out on Ewing Mesa!
Second Quarter XBlock classes begin Wednesday, October 31 and course descriptions were sent out to students and families today. Please review the choices over the weekend so that students can finalize their choices by Monday afternoon.
thank you to our super rad team coaches Tina Hott and Ashley Carruth!
The Fundraising Committee will meet next Wednesday, 8:30 to 9:30 in Libby's office. Student Council, in an effort to include more student voice in school decision-making, has decided this year that Student Representatives will actively participate in Board Committees. This, paired with the influx of new energy on our Board, is leading to really energized and productive Committee work this fall. Please reach out to Committee Chairs if you would like to get involved; you can view Committee membership, agendas and minutes on our website here.
Seniors and their families are invited to join college counselor Jess Adams for a Financial Aid and Scholarship Session next Thursday evening, 5:30 to 7:30 at AHS. Gaining admission to college is a piece of the puzzle, but Jess will take this time to describe tips for the other piece--making it affordable.
