Greetings Ospreys,
The Nest was abuzz with end-of-semester energy and activities this week including two excellent evening exhibitions and the start of Presentations of Learning. Student Council's
Osprey Holiday Party
TONIGHT from 6:00 to 8:00 here at AHS will provide an opportunity for students to gather together to share and spread some holiday cheer in the midst of the high-stakes academic work they're doing. We'll wrap presents collected through our
Project Merry Christmas Holiday Gift Drive, decorate cookies, drink hot chocolate and watch holiday films together. We are so appreciative of the outpouring of generosity we saw from our community--
both families will receive every single item on their lists
and Student Council will deliver our presents this weekend.
Thank you, Ospreys, for pulling together to make this gift drive such a resounding success!
This week's exhibitions included so many good conversations between our students, families and community members about what they've learned this semester. Sometimes we leave exhibitions wishing we'd had enough time to visit more fully with all the students. Remember, you can always view
Student Digital Portfolios, which are posted on the AHS website, to see student work, including projects they exhibit, reflections on their learning and more.
In preparation for the final week of the semester, please review all POL information
here; next week's schedule is unusual and varies for individual students.
As a reminder, students are
not required to be on campus when they are not presenting or paneling
for other students. The Hub Bus between DHS and AHS will run as usual on Monday through Thursday, but not on Friday, and we will offer catered lunch on Monday and Tuesday, but not for the remainder of the week. Please plan accordingly.
Thank you to all who have signed up to help with the
Staff Appreciation Lunch, which will happen next Friday from noon to 1:00. There are still a handful of needs to be met, including preparing food, lending decorations or helping on the day of the event. This parent-run event is a beautiful Osprey tradition and a great way to acknowledge all the teachers' hard work and dedication at this busy time of year. Please sign up to help
here in the way that works best for you.
Finally, if you're downtown this Sunday afternoon, swing by Animas City Theatre between 2:00 and 4:00 for the
iAM Music Winter Student Showcase, which will include performances for AHS students in our Music Performance electives. The event is free and open to all.
Enjoy your weekend and thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
