Greetings Ospreys,
Our 9th graders will head out into the community next Wednesday morning for the recently rescheduled
Career Exploration Day. We appreciate the parent drivers and businesses who open their doors to our students, making Career Days possible!
Seniors and their families are encouraged to attend the
Senior Financial Aid Night Wednesday, 5:30 to 7:30, where AHS college counselor Jess Adams will share important advice about maximizing financial aid to make college affordable.
The
Fundraising Committee meets Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 and the
Marketing and Communication Committee meets Wednesday, 5:30 to 7:00. As always Board Committee meetings are open to the public and we welcome your participation. Agendas and minutes are posted on our website
here. With AHS founding teacher Colleen Dunning's term ending, we are looking to fill her role on the AHS Board of Directors. If you or someone you know are passionate about supporting innovative school choice in our community, please contact Board President
jeff.king@animashighschool.com to learn more.
Please note that all medical forms for
Osprey Week
are due February 22, and any medications that students cannot self-carry while on Osprey Week must be turned in to the main office by March 6. Osprey Week groups will meet on March 6, and Osprey Week takes place March 18 through 22.
The
AHS Prom will be on Friday, April 19 and we would like to be able to offer After Prom for students once again this year. After Prom, a safe, drug and alcohol-free event, depends upon parent leadership and we are seeking a small group to organize this event. Interested in learning more? Please contact
libby.cowles@animashighschool.com.
We are hiring for the 2019-20 school year! Math teacher
Lauren Lucky, who has been at Animas since 2012, has decided to shift her attention to family and other projects next year and we will miss her deeply. Lauren's steady presence and wise leadership have been instrumental in AHS's success over the past eight years. Please help us spread the word that we are seeking applications through February 22 from talented, innovative educators looking to join our Math Department. Visit our website
here for details.
Finally, please be aware that we will have no school next Friday, February 15, which is a professional development day, or Monday, February 18, which is the Presidents' Day Holiday.
Enjoy the weekend and thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
