AHS Board of Directors
meets Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 next week. All are welcome; find agendas and minutes are on the AHS website
Tina Hott's Biology students are in final exhibition preparation mode, putting the finishing touches on their projects for the
Climate Change Carnival
, which is next Thursday afternoon. Ninth grade students present from 4:00 to 4:45 and tenth graders from 4:45 to 5:30, sharing projects they've created to demonstrate their understanding of the impact of climate change and to inspire positive action.
Immediately following the Biology exhibition, we hope you'll stop by the
Math Department Open House
from 5:30 to 6:30 to learn more about how and why we do math differently at Animas, supporting and challenging a wide range of learners through core classes and electives that connect traditional mathematics concepts to real-world problem-solving. We know that there are misconceptions and questions about math at AHS--
it's not like the math most of us did when we were in high school!
--and we encourage current and prospective families to join us for the Open House to learn more about how research supports our approach, how it meets and exceeds standards and how we're successfully preparing students for the most competitive college programs around the world.
It is with some sadness that we share the news that Science teacher Tina Hott and Spanish teacher Kat Jackson will be leaving AHS at the end of the year to pursue their next adventures. Both Tina and Kat have contributed so very much to our school, and they will be sorely missed. Big shoes to fill for sure--but if you know a teacher who would be a perfect fit for AHS, please let them know that
As a reminder, tomorrow is a Professional Development Day for staff and Monday is a holiday. Enjoy the long weekend and thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
