We are pleased to offer free admission to Brown County residents from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month! 

Not only is admission FREE all day, so is the project we will be making from 10:00 am to noon. After noon the project will be available in take-home kits while supplies last.

• Astronomical Society Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are free and open to the public and include society business, an astronomy-related presentation, and a Deep Sky Object of the Month.

Enjoy an hour-long guided tour of the temporary exhibit, Secret Seuss. Go in-depth on American author and cartoonist Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel’s history, illustrations, and a collection of his “Unorthodox Taxidermy.”

Women Who Run With Scissors is a group of 15 women artists based in northeastern Wisconsin. They invite all to share their visions and dreams created with fabric, fiber and stitching. Each artist expresses her creativity with original art portraying real or imagined images, drawing the viewer in for a closer look.

Reed Every Day is a project consisting of daily drawings of Miles Buss' son, Reed. The project began when he was born on June 28th, 2023 and has continued to this day. The drawings are a way of keeping Miles in the moment with his family. Making a drawing takes time, it isn't instantaneous like a photo, and it requires careful observation of the details one might otherwise miss. The drawings were all made from direct observation, without photographic references, so they serve as artifacts of time spent loving his son and watching him grow.

The passengers of Delta flight #37 were given little information when their captain announced a surprise diversion to Gander, Newfoundland, on September 11, 2001. Landing among 30+ jumbo jets they soon realized this was no routine refueling stop. Discover the unexpected kindness, care, and joy that prevailed in one of America’s darkest moments.

Green Bay native Abby Pavek fondly recalls family trips to the Neville Public Museum growing up: “My parents would always bring (us) but we would have to avoid the ice cave because my little brother was scared of Stompy.” The imposing Proboscidea continues to loom large at the Neville, where Abby hopes to get experience with the museum side of anthropology careers.

Presently studying Cultural Anthropology at UW Lacrosse, Abby admits to not yet having a clear vision for her professional future, but would “love to do something that focuses on the intersection of art and culture.”

During her time at the Neville she loved being able to ride in the dugout canoe and learning about the process it takes to make one. She hopes to learn more about possible directions she can take anthropology as a career, and leave with more knowledge and connections. “Museums are a place to learn more about who you are, where you are, and what is/was happening in the world. Museums also spark connection and conversation.”

Mao Lor is a Green Bay artist and maker who has been creating Hmoob paj ntaub (Hmong textiles) that convey the vitality of Hmoob art, history, and culture for over forty years. The exhibition features three dozen of Lor’s intricately hand-sewn and embroidered artworks, which include pieces using traditional methods and patterns and those that reflect contemporary innovations used for storytelling.

The exhibition is organized by the Paine Art Center and Gardens in partnership with the Hmong Studies program at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Discover famed American children's author and cartoonist known for his work writing and illustrating more than 60 books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. His work includes many of the most popular children's books of all time. The exhibit features a collection that consists of original character illustrations created by Dr. Seuss, as well as a collection of his "Unorthodox Taxidermy". There are also bronze sculptures of some of his most famous characters.
