COMMENDED STUDENTS IN THE 2024

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Dr. Rosemary Camp, Principal of Liberty North High School, is pleased to announce that Breanna Coonfare, Samuel Kim, and Noah Warner have been named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Certificate of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) will be presented by Dr. Camp to these scholastically talented seniors.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

Congratulations to Liberty North's Ryan Stegall for being named the MSHSAA Baseball Coach of the Year for 2022-2023, and to Liberty North's Steve Person for being named the MSHSAA Girls Soccer Coach of the Year for 2022-2023. Both led their teams to state championships this past spring and have provided incredible leadership to their programs for many years.

Parents,

As we approach the halfway point of first semester, the Liberty North Admin team would like to remind parents and students that student schedules can no longer be changed or adjusted. If a student would like to change their existing schedule, they will be able to do so at the beginning of second semester.

Have a great weekend!

LN Admin Team

Attendance: Students must scan their ID at the main office if they are leaving or returning from an appt during school hours. If this is not done, the student will remain unverified (even if a parent has called) because attendance has no record of the student leaving or returning. Thank you for helping us by reminding your student to do this.

Parents,

We will be contacting students via email about EOC exam make-ups (Dec. 11- Dec 15.) for students who need to test. Please check-in with your student in the coming days to see if they have been notified of a missing test they need to make-up. If they receive an email about a missing test, they contact Ms. Gail Stark or Dr. Allen to find out which test exactly they will need.

Thank you

Hello, Eagle families~

We are preparing for our annual SOS Signs of Suicide program in a few weeks, and we want to ensure that you, too, have the information and tools to converse with your students about it. Below is a link for the Parent/Caregiver Slide Deck Training.

2023.24 Yearbook Name Change

The LNHS Performing Arts app is designed to provide a single platform to access up-to-date information for all of the Performing Arts departments at Liberty North High School. Featuring a calendar of events and opportunities throughout the year the app will also provide a hub for each department to share important information about classes, performances, and clubs.

Good day,

PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF SENIORS, YOU HAVE TWO MORE WEEKS UNTIL YOUR SENIOR AD/TRIBUTES ARE DUE!

My name is Ronna Sparks-Woodward, and I'm the yearbook adviser here at Liberty North. The editors are hard at work putting the 2023.24 Ayrie together, especially planning the senior section of the yearbook, which includes the senior ads (also known as senior tributes) senior parents have purchased every year.

I've attached the paperwork to order senior ads. If your 2024 senior is your first senior, you may be unfamiliar with senior ads; therefore, I've included examples of senior ads on the paperwork.

PLEASE pay careful attention to the photo and word count for the size of ad you wish to purchase.

I would also like to encourage you to use the online order through our yearbook company, Walsworth Yearbooks. You can definitely send in paper/printed copies, but uploading all of your information to the website is an easier process.

Here's the site to order and pay online:

yearbookforever.com

Then search for Liberty North High School

The attached .pdf has all of the information you should need. If you have any questions, please email me. ronna.sparks-woodward@lps53.org.

Please remember:

SENIOR ADS ARE DUE MONDAY, October 23, 2023.

Hello, Eagle families~

In preparation for our annual Signs of Suicide program, the Counseling Center wants to inform parents that we use the Talk Dot at Liberty North. The Talk Dot is a sticker that staff members can display on their classroom doors, computers, and or on their belongings. This sticker signifies to students that they are a safe adult, their classroom is a safe space, and that the staff member is someone they can reach out to and who is willing to listen and help them through challenging situations. If your student is in crisis or feeling suicidal please let them know to look for a trusted adult displaying the Talk Dot sticker.  Students are always welcome to come to the Counseling Center to see a Counselor or Social Worker to help them with their mental health.
