CLGs Reach a Noteworthy Milestone
From the Certified Local Government Program (CLG) of the National Park Service, comes the announcement that in FY2018 the program reached the milestone of 2000 CLGs nationwide! California has sixty-seven CLGs and counting.
The 1980 amendments to the National Historic Preservation Act included establishment of the Certified Local Government Program to encourage and support local government efforts to preserve historic resources within their jurisdictions. The CLG program operates as a partnership between local governments, the Office of Historic Preservation, and the National Park Service.
