Greetings Chamber Members and Friends,
When the balloons arrive in Albuquerque in early October, we know that fall is officially here! Fiesta begins this weekend, and due to the number of out-of-towners in the region, they'll be seeking things to do when the balloons aren't flying. The chamber maintains a listing of current local events on its website, and for our local newsletter subscribers, here is a brief list of some October events:
- Wild Hearts Gallery - Featured Artist Bunny & Leland Bowen "Colors of Home" exhibit, October 1-27, with a public artist reception October 5th, 1-3 p.m.

Placitas Community Library - There's Poetry at the Library this month, and a talk on The History of the Universe.
- At the Outpost Performance Center, there are jazz performances, music classes, and a world music performance - all during October.
- Placitas Seller's Market October 12th and 26th, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds from booth rentals benefit local Placitas charitable organizations. And there are only a few markets left for 2024, so come in October to locate and purchase that special treasure or gift.

Placitas Artists Series - The Hermitage Piano Trio performs on October 20th at 3 p.m.There is a pre-concert talk at 1:30 pm, followed by a visual arts exhibit at 2 pm. Concert tickets are available at the link above; no ticket is needed to view the art exhibit and artist reception.
- Visit Chicky's Coffee on October 5th for their Fall Bash (10 am - 2 pm); celebrate their second anniversary with great coffee and live music.

The September 12th Chili-Chile Cookoff was a great success. There were some tasty chile-infused dishes, several winners, and - best of all, $500 was raised for Casa Rosa, our local Placitas food bank. Many, many thanks to those that attended, tasted, voted, and donated. Here's a link to the chamber website where you can view photos of the winners and their dishes.
