Friends Of Preschool News:
Teacher Appreciation Week and Ms Kathy's retirement
We would like to thank everyone who helped make teacher appreciation week so fabulous!  Thank you to the Friends of the Preschool (FOP) for organizing this special week. This year, in addition to their regular work, the teachers have had to complete extra materials for our ELEA accreditation process.  Thank you for showing your appreciation for them.

Long time teacher, Kathy Weaver, is retiring at the end of this year.  She has served our school for 17 years.  We celebrated her many years of service at the fun Cinco de Mayo themed luncheon.

Please consider helping out with the Graduation Reception for the 4-year-old classes on May 19.  It's nice to have the younger classes' (1, 2, and 3-year-old parents) help since this celebration is for the older classes and their families.  Contact Vanessa Carter if you can help.
Registrations for Fall 2017 and Summer Camp are On-Going
Summer Camp Registration and payment is online!   Please tell your neighbors and friends about GSLP.  Your recommendation is valuable.  Invite them to call 919-846-5060 for a personalized tour during school hours. They can find more information at  There is currently availability in most classes for the fall.  Summer camp is still open to the rising kindergartners.
The children in the 4's classes got to visit Picasso's Playground, created by Ms Kelli.  They got to paint, weave, sew and create in an outdoor setting on a beautiful spring day.
The mission of GSLP is to provide a Christ-centered early childhood preschool through faith-based education and service in a nurturing inclusive environment.
The Educational Philosophy of Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool
The focus of the preschool is to meet children’s needs and stimulate learning in these developmental areas:    *Physical       *Emotional/ Social        *Spiritual       *Cognitive              *Music/Art

To nurture these areas the Preschool’s objectives are to:
  • Integrate Christian faith formation throughout the curriculum.
  • Develop a cooperative/supportive relationship between the child, the family and the preschool.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Teach children about their relationship with God and all people in the world.
  • Provide tools for assessment of students’ progress.

Our teachers relate education to the child’s understanding about God and Christian life so that the spiritual and developmental aspects of the curriculum become a foundation for a lifelong faith.
