May 2011
Welcome to Urban League of Greater Richmond
Young Professionals Network

Greetings!

The Urban League Young Professionals Network is pleased to announce the unveiling of our CAMPAIGN FOR EDUCATION.  We will be conducting an outreach and awareness effort to EMPOWER civil rights leaders, legislators, parents and community leaders to understand the importance of supporting parental choice and high quality educational options.

We want to EMPOWER RICHMOND to learn about the opportunities and FACTS while getting our community to support education reform that works!  YP will be working through a statewide initiative with local community coalitions to identify education issues and present a call to action that will change the way Virginia citizens hold our elected leaders ACCOUNTABLE for ensuring that OUR voices are heard!

Please join us and the Greater Richmond Education Reform Alliance (G.R.E.R.A) on May 17th at the Byrd Theater in Carytown for a film viewing of "The Lottery", a documentary about the Harlem Success Academy and learn about one option that produces great outcomes for ALL kids:  Charter Schools.

I look forward to seeing you in May and stay tuned as we unveil our upcoming CAMPAIGN FOR JOBS: SUMMER 2011!!!

Yours In The Movement,
Shanee Harmon, President
