Executive leaders and Partners in Mission from our sponsored ministries gathered at Mount Saint Joseph Convent on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, for a day focused on Sponsorship.
Participants shared breakfast and prayer with members of the General Council, as well as Coordinators for Sponsorship and Mission Integration.
Sister Anne Myers SSJ
offered words of welcome and gratitude. “Welcome everyone and thank you for being here from near and far, especially Martine Wendzinski, who is here all the way from LePuy. Thank you so much for believing in this mission, expressed in the values we focus on today: compassion, justice, collaboration, inclusive love and care for Earth. Thank you for being partners with us in extending this mission through all your good works. We need you!”
Participants were invited to ponder the SSJ Values for Sponsored Ministries and to bring an artifact that reflected a particular value alive in their ministry. A metal straw, a white dove ornament, a retreat brochure, a graduation photo, a prayer poster and a lace bobbin were some of the artifacts shared.
The newly drafted Sponsorship Manual and mission formation opportunities for Partners in Mission were among the topics discussed.
After lunch, everyone visited the newly renovated chapel and departed in awe and gratitude.
