The American Music Theater
Lancaster, Pennsylvania
November 18, 2018
On Sunday, November 18, 2018, 85 sisters and friends boarded two luxury buses for the annual Christmas trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The first stop was Miller’s Smorgasbord, a homey Pennsylvania Dutch eatery with an all-you-can-eat buffet of local favorites. Before the meal, everyone enjoyed visiting Miller’s Gift & Bake Shop which featured a wide variety of tasty Pennsylvania Dutch candies, jams, and pies, in addition to creative hand crafts and souvenirs.

Following the delicious lunch, the buses headed for The American Music Theatre for The 2018 First Noel production. The show was entertaining and inspiring and magically transported everyone into the joy of the season.

Filled with the Christmas spirit, everyone boarded the buses at 5:30 for the trip home. Although a little tired and somewhat weary from a full day out, everyone relaxed on the way home — thankful for all those who made a truly wonderful day possible.

Saint Joseph Villa

Working Together Brings Great Success
The 2018 Villa Chance Drive was a great success. On Sunday, December 2, 2018, the winning tickets were pulled from the enormous  newly-refurbished 28 year- old barrel which held thousands of hopefuls.

Sister Kathleen Pales SSJ , Development Director, welcomed everyone and offered her gratitude to all who took part in making the 2018 Villa Drive so successful — sisters, associates, friends and all who bought and sold tickets.

In her words of appreciation  Sister Anne Myers SSJ , Congregational President, shared: “I would like to express a special thanks to  Sister Pat Doherty SSJ for coordinating the drive here at the Villa. We also thank all those in the Development Office and particularly Danielle Santacroce, who gave us regular updates on the progress of the drive and kept all of us on track.

We know, as we look at this barrel, that all of these individual chances really represent more than pieces of paper — they represent relationships. How grateful we are for those whose lives we have touched and who have touched our lives.”

After one more  roll of the barrel , the winning tickets were picked. Congratulations to the winners and sellers whose names are listed below. We are sincerely grateful to everyone whose hard work made it such a wonderful success: $24,600.00 raised at the Villa and a total of $126,228.00 raised by the entire Congregation!
