On the 60
anniversary of their graduation, the class of 1957 from Holy Cross Grade School in Mt. Airy, PA, chose to honor the Sisters of Saint Joseph who taught them, and in their words —
helped them realize their dreams.
Members of the class contributed to the parish to pay for an engraved 6-by-10-inch brick to be added to the cross-shaped garden of bricks and flowers embedded in the apron in front of the Church. The garden is a reminder that the Church offers not just a path to the next life, but to a deeper understanding of the life we share here on Earth.
All who contributed to this cause did so with the understanding that amounts over what was needed to dedicate a brick would be directed to the Sisters of Saint Joseph retirement fund.
Joe McLaughlin, member of the class of ’57, recently met with
Sister Kathleen Pales SSJ,
Development Director, and personally presented her with the class’s generous check. He shared heartwarming memories and fun stories from his grade school days at Holy Cross.
We are so appreciative to Joe and the Class of ’57 for their support and continued love and appreciation for the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
