Metro CEO Delivers Updates on Fares, Enforcement and Service Changes
By the end of June, Metro Bus and Rail service changes went into effect — with more frequent service on many bus lines, as well as our light rail trains. Metro also resumed front door boarding on our buses to better accommodate the increase resulting from California’s reopening on June 15, 2021. Front door boarding allows for better flow of our patrons. Easy in, easy out to make for faster, more efficient travel – getting you where you need to go faster.

SoCalREN's Project Delivery Program Saves Public Agencies Money and Energy

Our partner, the Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) Public Agency Programs, guides public agencies through energy efficiency projects that save energy and money, all at no cost! SoCalREN’s Project Delivery Program was established in 2013 to help public agencies achieve energy savings fast. Cities, counties, school districts and more can enroll in SoCalREN Public Agency Programs for access to free services like energy consumption benchmarking, technical support, and financial analysis.

The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) is proud to partner with the SoCalREN Public Agency Programs to offer SoCalREN’s Project Delivery Program in the South Bay through our Environmental Services Center. By partnering with SoCalREN, the SBCCOG and local agencies are helping California to achieve its ambitious climate goals -- while reducing energy bills, saving taxpayer money, and freeing up scarce public resources for services like public safety, firefighting and libraries. Interested in learning more? Contact us at Sam@southbaycities.org or visit socalren.org/agencies to see if your community is enrolled!
SoCalGas Offers Ways to Conserve Water

We have all seen the headlines about California facing drought conditions once again and we know conserving water by taking shorter showers and turning off the faucet while brushing our teeth are some ways we can help. But SoCalGas offers additional ways to conserve water that you might not be aware of. For example, low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators are simple tools that adjust the water flow rate and offer significant water savings. SoCalGas offers a free energy-efficiency starter kit that comes with three faucet aerators and a low-flow showerhead. Those interested in receiving an energy-efficiency starter kit can find out how to register.
