Save Water, Energy, Money and the Environment

Educating youth about the importance of energy efficiency while providing free energy-saving measures to households.

As the school year comes to a close, we want to highlight the success of the SoCalREN Kits for Kids program in the South Bay.

Kits for Kids is a hands-on educational program for third- and fourth-grade students to teach them about energy efficiency.

Students of participating classrooms receive energy efficiency kits with household equipment including LED light bulbs, nite lites, and faucet aerators to install at home. The program also engages kids in energy education with fun activities like scavenger hunts.

Enrolled classrooms (where >65% of students have installed the kit at home) are eligible for a $1,000 grant.

The 2023-2024 school year involved 280 South Bay students from 135th Street Elementary, LAUSD, Gardena; Towne Avenue Elementary, LAUSD, Carson; and Zela Davis Elementary, Hawthorne Unified, Hawthorne. Teachers of participating classes received $12,000 directly in grants.

Attend West Basin’s Final Budget Workshop

Thursday, May 30

West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin) invites you to join them as staff presents the fifth and final budget workshop to the West Basin board of directors on Wednesday, May 30, 2024, at the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility (ECLWRF).

The topic of this workshop will focus on budget adoption, rates, and charges. It will take place from 10 a.m. – noon in the ECLWRF conference room. It will be open to the public in person and will be virtually streamed online here.

The 2023-24 fiscal year ends on June 30. This series of sessions ensures the West Basin service area is informed of the agency’s thorough and transparent process as the 2024-25 FY budget is developed.

LADWP's website has a new look!

LADWP has launched a new and improved LADWP.com.

Website redesign efforts have made it simpler to navigate content and find the information you need so you can better manage your water and power services.

Here’s some of the new features you can expect to see:

Updated User Interface: The website now has a modern and clean look, making it more visually appealing and easier to navigate.

Improved Navigation: LADWP restructured the site layout to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for. Menus have been simplified and organized into categories, making it faster to access the information you need.

Enhanced Search Function: Searching for specific information on a website can be frustrating. search functions have been improved to provide more accurate and relevant results.

Mobile-Friendly Design: The website is now optimized for mobile devices, allowing you to see program and rebate details with ease.

This website redesign is just the first step in more online enhancements to better serve you. Later in 2024, customers can anticipate improvements to the self-service options available through customer online accounts.
