From the Desk of the Director
Saturday is a great feast day for all of us in the Americas. Our Blessed Mother appeared to Juan Diego in Mexico and brought to the Aztec people the message of her Son. Within six years, six million Aztecs were converted to Catholicism. Love and mercy won over a violent and deathly society. Mary’s beautiful words to Juan Diego are a message to us all, especially today:
"My dear little son, I love you. I desire you to know who I am. I am the ever-virgin Mary, Mother of the true God who gives life and maintains its existence. He created all things. He is in all places. He is Lord of Heaven and Earth.”
Keep the Faith, our Blessed Mother is directing us to Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Let us be like Juan Diego, unafraid to show a brutal world that we are meant for love and joy.
Blessings this Advent,

Ellen Taylor

LA Catholic Morning!

Live from the Command Center
A few days ago, Pope Francis announced the Year of St Joseph. As a father, I always draw inspiration from him, especially this time of year as he and Mary made the long journey to Bethlehem. And as we slowly make our way to Christmas amidst the chaos in the world, I ask for St Joseph's intercession to FINISH the journey! So, I have compiled another spectacular line up of guests on LA Catholic Morning next week. Alabama Secretary of State, John Merrill returns to give us the latest on Alabama's lawsuit (along with Texas and 15 other states) against the battleground states for voter irregularities. On Tuesday, we'll talk with Ashley McGuire from the Catholic Association, who recently blasted Joe Biden on his pick for Health and Human Services Secretary, Xavier Becerra. Dan Burke from the Avila Institute, joins us on Wednesday to share about Apostoli Vitae. We'll hear Michele McAloon's interview with Dr Peter Kwasniewski about the Latin Mass on Thursday, and Fr Mateusz Rudzik has our Sunday Gospel reflection on Friday morning.
As I tell my kids all the time, "Never give up! Persistence is the key to success in everything...especially our Catholic faith" God bless ya'll!!! Don't forget to call your mama!! She loves you!!
