Sculptures Cleaned and Waxed
Art conservator Jo DeDecker, of Sculpture Services of Colorado, was at the museum in June to clean and wax our two outdoor bronze sculptures. Following sculpture maintenance guidelines from the National Park Service, the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, and the Getty Museum, DeDecker spent the day giving new life to the bronze artworks. We think you will like the results!

Texas Ranger Co. “F” Major Corey Lain met with the delegation, providing an orientation on the mission and duties of the Texas Rangers. In Memoriam: Chip McCormick
We are saddened to announce the passing of Chip McCormick, a legendary gunsmith and innovator. He is most known for the both creating the drop-in AR-15 trigger and conceiving of a "spec" 1911 made with parts that could be quickly and easily assembled.
Mr. McCormick was also a patron of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum. His grandfather, J. W. McCormick was a Texas Ranger in the 1920s-1930s and helped clean up the east Texas town of San Augustine. On display are a pair of presentation Colt Single Action Army Prewar Model P Revolvers inscribed on the barrel, “Citizens of San Augustine to Capt. J. W. McCormick”. These revolvers were presented to Captain McCormick by grateful citizens in December of 1935. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the TRHFM Memorial Fund.
