Your quarterly news & updates
There are always exciting projects and events going on in our watershed! Read on to learn about what we've been up to in the last few months, and what we have planned for the next.
Hudson Tenbroeck Restoration
Designs are almost complete for this project! TCWP and EnviroScience are securing necessary permits, and invasive treatment is underway.

Before construction begins, TCWP worked with Corey Wojcik to capture the starting point of this project.

You can see that this portion of Tinker's Creek has been channelized. The creek is slow moving and does not have a diversity of flow or habitat for fish and other life. This project will create that diversity of habitat to help Tinker's thrive.

All photos were taken by Corey Wojcik.

Summer Events
TCWP hosted several public education events including rain barrel workshops, public presentations about the watershed, and worked with volunteers and partners to remove invasive species and plant native trees.

Our summer was dominated by stream clean ups which removed dozens and dozens of bags of trash out of Tinker's Creek. Thank you to our volunteers who helped make Tinker's a little more habitable for wildlife and prevented these materials from reaching Lake Erie!

TCWP is moving!
TCWP has been generously housed out of Twinsburg City Hall for several years now. We have added two new employees and were in need of a larger space. We are incredibly grateful to move to another City owned building, affectionately known to us as
"The House Behind City Hall".

If you have time this weekend to help us paint the new space, please email Kate Chapel ASAP!

Our address is not changing! Any mail can still be directed to PO Box 444, Twinsburg, OH 44087.

A tremendous THANK YOU to  Dominion Energy Virginia , and their Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, for helping us plant plenty of native plants and trees at our new office location! The before and after pictures below only show a fraction of the hard work these volunteers helped us with last week for their "Energizing Our Communities Volunteer Day".
These native plants and trees will help slow and absorb stormwater and runoff from the house, and in return help Tinker's Creek which flows right behind it.
Native plants are a great and simple addition for stormwater management because they have deeper and more extensive root systems than non-natives plants! This prevents erosion and provides more filtration, and they also require little to no fertilizer or chemical applicants! Both of which can harm stream ecosystems, so they also help improve water quality

And ANOTHER thank you to Robinson Lawn & Garden Center for providing all of these beautiful native plants and trees... along with all of the tools, equipment, soil, and mulch!

Robinson Lawn & Garden Center is one of our valued business members! Come check out the plantings at our new offices, and if you see anything you like, Robinson can provide you plant material for your own home!

Our 2nd annual fundraiser, Drinkers for Tinker's is the fall's can't miss event!

We had so much fun last year that we are back at Hop Tree Brewing in Hudson for a night of good food, good beer, and good company.

This fundraiser supports TCWP all year round for supplies, staff, projects, and community events.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, the entire ticket price goes directly to TCWP.

Tickets are $50 and include food, two beers, and three raffle tickets.
