Weekly COVID-19 Case Update since August 5 newsletter

  • CRANFORD: 521 confirmed cases; (3 new in community) 96 confirmed fatalities (0 new)
  • UNION COUNTY: 16,827 confirmed cases; 1,181 confirmed fatalities (168 probable but not yet confirmed)
  • NJ: 187,164 confirmed cases; 14,064 confirmed fatalities (1,839 probable but not yet confirmed)

   Contact tracing has been used by Health Departments for many years to track the spread of communicable diseases. It is especially important to stopping the spread of COVID-19 so please take the call. Contact tracers will never ask you for personal bank information, social security number or other personal financial information. Conservation Center Permits are Available
 
   You must have a permit sticker to bring branches, grass clippings, garden and landscaping debris to the Conservation Center. You do not need a sticker to drop off recyclables. For information and permit application, please click here.
    Cranford residents are seeing these bugs in their yards and even inside the house. While not dangerous to humans or pets, the Spotted Lantern Fly can be devastating to trees and plants. Please read this article for more information.
Congratulations and Thanks to NJ Sews in Unity

   More than 20 Cranford residents are part of this group who have been sewing masks, scrub caps and surgical gowns for 198 organizations in NJ serving vulnerable populations like the elderly, veterans, handicapped, women’s shelters, children’s clinics and more. The Cranford Township Committee issued a Proclamation to thank the volunteers.
