Township Committee
NEWS FROM TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE MEETINGS
  • Approved a Settlement Agreement with the Fair Share Housing Center regarding the Township’s Affordable Housing obligation. Read the agreement here.
  • Appointed Caren Demyen to serve as Director of Downtown Business and Economic Development. Caren has been the Acting Director since last fall.
  • Appointed Martha Banks as Technical Assistant in the Building Department to fill a vacancy.
  •  Advanced Frank Miniscalchi to Shade Tree Foreman and David Gassmann to Sewer Foreman in the Department of Public Works to fill vacancies.
  • Authorized street closures for the Downtown Fire and Ice event on Saturday, Feb. 20.
  • Authorized purchase of a Tahoe vehicle for the Fire Department and transfer of existing vehicle for use by other municipal departments.
Recreation & Parks Department
     Adults and children can still register for virtual classes being held through the Community Center. There will also be special trips for Senior Citizens in February. For more information, please visit the Recreation & Parks Department page.
Library
GRAB AND GO KITS

The Cranford Library is offering Grab and Go kits for both kids and adults! The kits are on a first come, first serve basis. You can find them at the far end of the library's contactless pickup area. For a look at the kits being offered, make sure you follow the Library on Facebook and Instagram.
Cranford Health Department
TRASH PICK UP REGULATIONS
 There have been complaints that haulers have been picking up trash well before the permitted time of 6:30am. Haulers have been notified of the regulations.

RABIES CLINIC
 Reminder to pet owners - make sure you renew pet licenses by January 31 to avoid late fees. Forms can be mailed in or placed in the dropbox at the Municipal Building. If the dog is licensed, you were mailed a renewal reminder the first of December. Licenses do expire. The expiration is Dec. 31, the year depending on if it’s a 1 year or 3 year for dog licenses. Cat licenses are for 1 year.

Fire Department
The Cranford Fire Department now offers online Certificate of Continued Occupancy (CCO) Applications via the SDL Portal. For more information, please click on this link: Submit Your CCO Application Online. We encourage residents to utilize this online service, and will continue to offer “contactless” drop off in the front lobby of Fire Headquarters for those as well. 
Cranford’s Green Team
Thanks to the efforts of the Green Team, Cranford received Bronze Level Sustainable Jersey Certification. Last month, the Township Committee renewed its pledge toward more sustainable, environmentally-responsible approaches in municipal decisions. Learn more here: http://www.mygreencranford.org/.

NJ:
·        5,023 new / 615,202 cumulative confirmed cases
·        19,254 deaths
