Message from the Mayor
The Township Committee held the annual Reorganization Meeting on January 2 to swear in a new Commissioner, select the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and appoint professionals and volunteers to boards and committees.
On behalf of the Township Committee, we extend thanks to the many residents who expressed an interest to serve on a board or committee. We made more than 250 appointments and are grateful for the interest shown by Cranford residents. Some committees had limited vacancies so we weren’t able to accommodate every request but we encourage you to remain involved and appreciate your commitment to our town.
We were disappointed the meeting couldn’t be held in person but like the general population, COVID-19 has impacted the municipal family and our commitment to keeping the public and Township employees safe remains a priority. Without staff, we may not be able to provide service.
The Township Committee continues to monitor the situation and will make changes accordingly. For now, the Town Hall remains closed to the public but every office is staffed and prepared to serve you. We ask that you call or email the person or department you need to contact or use the secure lock boxes at the rear entrance to the building. If you need to meet in person please call ahead and make an appointment. For contact information please visit www.cranfordnj.org.
Best wishes for a safe and healthy New Year,
Kathleen Miller Prunty
Mayor
