A Perfect Night for Dining Outside

Starting tonight, two areas in downtown are closed to traffic from Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening for temporary public spaces for our businesses. A portion of Alden Street starting at N. Union Avenue and the lower area of Parking Lot 7 (behind Garlic Rose) are set up for outdoor dining. Each of these spaces are also available for nonfood businesses to use when the restaurants are not open.
Today, Mayor Patrick Giblin and Deputy Mayor Kathleen Miller Prunty met with business owners on Eastman Street about closing an area from North Avenue to Miln Street for a third alfresco dining area.
The Township also created a Code Review Committee to fast track applications for expanded outdoor dining on private property and many restaurants have already opened additional seating areas. Enjoy all of our Cranford businesses.
