Cybersecurity has been cited as the number one concern for the state of Nevada. It tops the list of priorities for the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security. In addition, it is projected the need for certified cybersecurity professionals will reach 1.5 million by 2020. UNLV Continuing Education is now collaborating with The Learning Center to offer more than 60 IT and cybersecurity courses and certifications. The program consists of classes for the beginner looking for a new career or new skills and extends into the highest level of cybersecurity training and certifications for those seeking cross-training or promotion opportunities.

Scholarships Available for Re-Entry Students to Finish Their Degrees
Non-traditional students make up more than 20 percent of all students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. These are students who had their education journey disrupted by family commitments, military service, finances, or other reasons. Not surprisingly, money is often a barrier for adult learners wishing to complete their degree.

UNLV's Community2Campus office within the Division of Educational Outreach administers several scholarships earmarked especially for students returning to college after an extended interruption. The scholarship application deadline for the 2017-2018 academic year is 5 p.m. Friday, April 14.
