The Ukrainian National Museum is a true treasury that holds relics of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky.
On the 160th anniversary of his birth, one can visit this giant of faith and spirit, even away from Ukraine. The museum's archives preserve photographs and the written legacy of the Metropolitan. Notably, there is an image of the ceremonial banquet in Chicago in October 1922, held in honor of Andrey Sheptytsky and Oleksandr Koshyts.
The collection also includes photos of Sheptytsky's visit to the town of Kalush during a large gathering of people, as well as a unique photograph from his visit to the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen’s divisions in October 1917. One image shows the Metropolitan meeting with officers and leaders of the Sich Riflemen.
The "Dilo" newspaper reported on the formal reception at the Mykolaiv-Drohobych train station, where ten soldiers from each company greeted him with a Sich march played by the orchestra. The station was decorated with blue and yellow flags, and the Metropolitan passed through the ranks of the Sich Riflemen, accompanied by Otaman Hryhorii Kossak and Lieutenant Colonel Kazimir Huzhkovskii. Following the reception, Sheptytsky dined with the command staff of the Sich Riflemen.
The following Sunday, Sheptytsky held a service for the Sich Riflemen and blessed their flag.
