In accordance with the recently updated Open Meetings Act, the Village Board will meet online on April 13 at 5:30 p.m. The Village Board will accept questions or comments from the public as part of their agenda for the meeting, which will be audio and video recorded.

Comments and questions for Village Board consideration are being accepted by phone – leave a voicemail at (630) 671-2804 before 3:00 p.m. on April 13; and electronically – email [email protected] or use the online Village Board Meeting Public Participation form before 4:00 p.m. on April 13.

Submissions will be read into the public meeting minutes.

Many Roselle businesses with commercial accounts with the Village's new waste hauling vendor, Flood Brothers Disposal, saw additional erroneous fees on their first invoice from the company. Flood Brothers realized the error after the invoices were issued, and wants businesses owners to know that they are not responsible to pay for any fees outside the normal trash and/or recycling service fee.

Business owners should disregard the additional processing fee, regulatory/ environmental fee and container service plan line items on the erroneous invoices and only pay the charges reflected in the trash and/or recycling service line item.

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that all special events in the Village of Roselle are canceled through the end of June to promote the social distancing that is necessary during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even if Governor Pritzker lifts the Stay-at-Home order before the start June, it will not be a time that people will want to gather in large groups or at festivals. It is in the best interest of the public, and for the festival organizers, to announce the cancellations at this time.

Roselle is a community of traditions, and the Flags for Roselle program, the Legion's Memorial Day Ceremony, the Run for the Roses 5K, the Lions Club's Annual Rose Festival, and our Rose Parade, sponsored by the Roselle Chamber of Commerce, are among the most cherished and will certainly be missed this year. A new tradition in Roselle that has attracted many festival goers, the Pollyanna Roselare Beer Fest, is also affected.

I'd like to thank all of the organizers of these events for their patience as we work through the difficult but necessary cancellations.
