Coronavirus (COVID-19) Stay at Home Order-

As we all have heard by now, the State of Illinois has issued a Stay at Home Order through April 7, 2020.   Pursuant to the terms of the order, residents are ordered to stay at home to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus - though the order exempts certain essential businesses, services and activities to remain operational.   Please note that pursuant to said Executive Order, the Village's two playgrounds and park shelters are closed to public use.  Wadsworth Park's walking path will remain open, as long as guests practice proper social distancing.

State of IL Seeking PPE Donations-
 
The State of Illinois is accepting donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to meet local needs and ensure safe care against COVID-19. Residents and companies looking to donate masks (N-95, ear loop, or surgical), gowns (isolation or non-descript), gloves (nitrile, sterile, or surgical) or eye protection (face shields and goggles) for first responders may reach out to ppe.donations@illinois.gov to make arrangements.  You may also click HERE for more information.
Support Local Businesses-
 
The COVID-19 threat is placing a tremendous burden on businesses all throughout our Country -including our local business community.  Recent orders concerning the closing (or partial closing) of businesses in our region provides a great deal of uncertainty concerning the short and long term sustainability of them.  Where and when possible, please consider patronizing our local businesses during these uncertain times that we find ourselves in.  Our Wadsworth and Lakeshore Chamber Business Community thank you for all of the support that you can provide them!

Village Operations During This Time-
At this time, Village Hall is closed to the public.

The general public shall call Village Hall at 847-336-7771 or send an email to info@villageofwadsworth.org in order to communicate with Village Staff. Staff will return your call (voicemail)/e-mail as soon as possible (please leave voicemail in the Village Administrator's mailbox - extension 101).

Permits can be submitted via e-mail; payments can be submitted via the ePay portal that is located on the main page of the Village's website.

The drop box located adjacent to the front door at Village Hall can be used to drop off permits/documents/etc., but please contact the Village either by phone or e-mail to notify us of your drop-off.

Road related issues can be reported to either the Village Administrator's voicemail box at Village Hall or directly to the Village President, Glenn Ryback, at 847-489-8813.

Building inspections and code enforcement activities are still being conducted, but on a more limited basis as interactions with the public are being limited at this time. 
2020 Census- 
 

By now, all residents should have received a letter in the mail asking you to complete the required census form for your household.  As of March 21, 30% of Wadsworth households have submitted their census form either online, by phone or by mail (22% of Lake County and Illinois households have completed their census forms as of this same date).  Thank you for your assistance thus far!  Let's use this time that we have at home to work towards a 100% completion rate.  In the event that you did not receive a form or cannot locate yours, please click HERE to take the census online.
Village Meetings-

 

As the COVID-19 threat remains fluid and continues to evolve, the State of Illinois has permitted the use of remote participation to conduct Village Meetings.  The Village will utilize the "Go To Meeting" service to conduct Board and Committee meetings via telephone.  When such meetings are scheduled, a toll-free call-in number as well the meeting's access code will be posted on all Village meeting agendas.  The service allows for participation in such meetings without the need of a computer or smartphone.  Agendas for all meetings will continue to be posted on the Village's website.  However, please note, as our current situation remains fluid, it is not known at this time if the scheduled April 13 public hearing regarding a potential cannabis dispensary will go on as scheduled.  Public Hearings before the Zoning Board of Appeals/Plan Commission will not be conducted via remote-only participation.
