In Memoriam-

The Village of Wadsworth mourns the recent passing of two gentlemen who provided many years of public service to our local and surrounding communities.  

On Sunday, March 8, 2020, former Village President Ed Tomkowiak passed away.  Ed served our Village for approximately 26 years - 16 as Village Trustee (1967-1983), 8 as Village President (1983-1991) and for 2 years as a member of the Village Comprehensive Plan Update Committee (2012-2014).

Just last week, on Friday, April 10, 2020, current Village Trustee Ken Harvey passed away.  Ken served our Village as Trustee from 2007-2020.  Prior to his service as a Wadsworth Trustee, Ken had a distinguished 28-year career with the Waukegan Fire Department.

We ask that the Wadsworth Community keep the Tomkowiak and Harvey families in your thoughts during this time.  Their obituaries can be viewed via the above links.  The Village values the service that both Ed and Ken provided our citizenry.  They will truly be missed.
COVID-19-


As of the date of this e-newsletter, the State of Illinois is still under a Stay At Home Executive Order thru the end of April, 2020.  The CDC now recommends that if you need to go out for essentials, you should use cloth face coverings in public settings, such as grocery stores and pharmacies, where it is difficult to maintain social distancing.  For more information about the on-going COVID-19 threat, as well as links to other resources, please click the above image or this link.
2020 Census- 
 
April 1 was Census Day!

In the event that you did not receive a census form
or cannot locate yours,  please click  HERE  to take the census online.

PLEASE NOTE!  If you did not respond to the Census Bureau's initial mailer that was sent to your home, you will receive a Paper Form Census Questionnaire in the mail sometime after April 18.  
As of April 15, 2020, Wadsworth's participation rate stood at 66%.  Thank you for your efforts thus far!
2020 Wadsworth Road Projects-

 

Lake County will undertake two significant projects this summer at the Dilleys Road/Wadsworth Road Intersection ( Roundabout ) and at the Wadsworth Road/US HWY 41 Intersection ( Safety Improvement ).  The timing of these projects is projected to begin in June; future e-newsletters along with other communications will inform the public regarding the timelines / impacts regarding these projects once they have been finalized.  Plans for each project can be viewed by clicking the above links.  Stay tuned for another busy construction season upon Wadsworth Road!
