Fall Festival/Pig Roast Finally Here-

All are welcome to attend this year's Fall Festival and Pig Roast, which will be held this evening (September 14) from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Wadsworth Community Park.  Come out to enjoy great food and beverages, music that will get you on your feet and invigorating hayrides with views
of the newly renovated courts and playground.

Food and beverages for purchase will be provided by Bauer's Catering and also by The Shanty. In addition to the great f ood and beverages, live music will be offered by a favorite band from last year, Brass from the Past.  And, to make the event even more exciting, Patch 22 will provide horse-drawn hayrides.

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing what promises to be a memorable time together with friends, family and neighbors.
Farmer's Market and GO Wadsworth Continue Through September 25-

The Wadsworth Farmer's Market continues each Wednesday through the end of September, and operates between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00  p.m. in Wadsworth Community Park.

A number of fruit, vegetable and craft vendors regularly participate; click here to view a list of our current market vendors.

Also, our invitation remains open for you to join us at our weekly GO Wadsworth walks.   These walks, which encourage participants to meet the challenge of being active at least thirty minutes per day, take place in our park during our weekly Farmer's Markets at 5 p.m.  Please come out and support our vendors as you shop for your weekly provisions, while, at the same time, pursuing an active lifestyle by participating in our energizing walks.   People who attend at least five of our weekly walks can have their names entered in a drawing to win a Fitbit fitness tracker.  This drawing will take place at the end of September.
Village Clerk Position Available-

The Village of Wadsworth is currently seeking a Village Clerk to handle the duties prescribed by Illinois State Statute (65 ILCS 5/3.1-35-90).

Generally, the Wadsworth Village Clerk must attend all Regular and Special Village Board Meetings (2X Monthly) and take the minutes of these meetings. Furthermore, the Clerk must also attend all Zoning Board of Appeals/Plan Commission Meetings and take the minutes of those meetings (6X Yearly) as well.

In addition, every two (2) years, the Clerk must administer the Village's local municipal elections and coordinate such tasks with the Lake County Clerk's Office and with the Candidates.

The Clerk must also sign and affix the Village's seal to official documents that require the signature of the Village Clerk.

However, the keeping of regular office hours at the Village Hall (except on a few occasions during election season) is not required.

The Wadsworth Village Clerk need not be a resident of the Village, and would be appointed by the Village President on a year-to-year basis. Compensation is $525 per month, minus the applicable withholdings.   No benefits of any kind will be offered.

To be considered for this position, please send a letter of interest plus a copy of your resume to the Wadsworth Village Hall, 14155 W. Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL 60083 or to info@villageofwadsworth.org.
Little Free Libraries-

The Village of Wadsworth is currently participating in the Little Free Library program, known for its book-sharing boxes. A Little Free Library is basically a "take a book, return a book" free book exchange. Anyone may take a book or contribute a book to share with the community. It's that easy!

If you do take a book, then please know that you do not need to return that exact book. But, in order to keep the Little Free Library boxes full of good choices for the whole Village community, the next time that you swing by a Little Free Library, please consider bringing a few interesting books to share.

Little Free Libraries are located adjacent to the park paths within Wadsworth Community and Orchard Parks.
NTHS Open House on October 5-

The Newport Township Historical Society (NTHS) will be hosting another Open House on October 5, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Please come for a special presentation on oil lamps. All are welcome to visit their facility, located at 15155 Wadsworth Road in Wadsworth.
Halloween and Trick or Treat-

This year, the Village of Wadsworth's designated trick or treating hours will be between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2019.
