Village Rummage Sale-

Do you want to clean out your garage, basement, or spare bedroom and have a lot of stuff to get rid of? If so, we have the venue for you.

Your Village and the Newport Township Historical Society have teamed up to host a rummage sale on October 6 at our downtown vacant lot.  It will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to any Wadsworth or Newport Township resident.  You might want to be a seller; you might also want to stop by to see if you can get a good deal on something to purchase.  Remember that one person's junk is another's treasure!

Guests and vendors are able to access the vacant lot via the driveway at the northern end of Caroline Avenue - just north of the fire station and post office.

Click HERE for all the details.

Also on this same day, the Newport Township Historical Society is hosting an Open House at their facility located at 15155 Wadsworth Road from 9 a.m. until Noon.  A soap making demonstration will take place at 10 a.m.
Newport and Beach Park Fire Departments Seeking Donations-

The Newport Township and Beach Park Fire Protection Districts, as part of their fire safety education efforts, have developed a program to assist both students and teachers of our area school districts who may be in need of school supplies throughout the school year.

Their public education officers will coordinate with local school administrators to procure donations as well as providing them with educationally sound fire safety materials for both students and teachers.

If you have any school supplies that you would like to donate, please contact Fire Prevention Officer Trudy Maatta directly at the Newport Township Fire District; 847-336-1080.  Supplies may be dropped off at Newport Station 1 - 39010 Caroline Avenue, Wadsworth or at Beach Park Station 1 - 3233 Lewis Avenue, Beach Park.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Freedom Farm for Vets Fall Festival-

Wadsworth's own Freedom Farm for Vets is once again hosting their annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 14th from 1 to 7 pm.  This is a free event and open to anyone and everyone; the event will happen rain or shine.  They will have something for everyone: pumpkin painting, a bake sale, a pie eating contest and a live band just to name a few things.  Parking will be on site in their pasture.  Please come spend your Sunday afternoon and see the farm and what they are all about.  Please email or call the farm with any questions you may have.
