2019 Easter Egg Hunt -
Come join in the fun and meet the Easter Bunny at the Village of Wadsworth's Annual Easter Egg Hunt. This exciting activity, which is fun for the whole family, will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, starting at 1:00 p.m., and will take place at Wadsworth Community Park, located at
14155 West Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth.
There will be designated hunts for four age groups - those being 0 to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 13.
We look forward to seeing everyone on what will hopefully be a nice spring afternoon.

Public Hearing on Keeping of Hens-
The Village of Wadsworth is considering a proposal to amend its zoning code to permit the keeping of hens (but not roosters) upon certain designated residential zoning lots that are less than five acres in size. No other farm animals would be permitted, aside from hens, on such lots.

The public hearing to discuss this proposal will be held on April 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. Public comment may be offered at this time. If you wish to offer a public comment prior to the hearing, then please email your views to Village Administrator Moses Amidei at info@villageofwadsworth.org.

| Wadsworth Area Pageant Event-
In order to provide some assistance to local foster children and their families, please join the Village of Wadsworth's Queens, in support of Royal Family Kids, for some "farm fun", on Sunday, April 28, 2019, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Patch 22, which is located at 15900 Kelly Road, Wadsworth.
A child-friendly petting zoo, complete with goats, bunnies and more will be available, and attendees will also be able to see cows, sheep and ponies.
Although this is a free event, the Queens do ask that you consider donating Lego sets, board games and books suitable for children ages 6 through 12. These gifts will be given to foster children when they celebrate their forthcoming birthdays.

Resolution Honors Hope Forcier-
On April 3, 2019, the Wadsworth Village Board adopted a resolution honoring Village resident and Master Gardener Hope Forcier for her vision, inspiration and dedication to the Wadsworth Farmers' Market. The Market, a weekly event held during the summer months on the grounds of Wadsworth Community Park, is now entering its seventh season. Market vendors provide not only fresh fruits and vegetables, but also hand-made items and other personal services. The Village President presented Hope with a plaque in honor of her service to the Wadsworth Community while serving as our Market Manager for five years.

Little Free Libraries-
The Village of Wadsworth recently began participating in the Little Free Library program, known for its book-sharing boxes. A
Little Free Library is basically a "take a book, return a book" free book exchange. Anyone may take a book or contribute a book to share with the community. It's that easy!
If you do take a book, then please know that you do not need to return that exact book. But in order to keep the Little Free Library boxes full of good choices for the whole Village community, the next time that you swing by a library, consider bringing a few interesting books to share.
In an effort to spark interest among Village residents to utilize our Little Free Library book sharing program, five copies of Chris Ballard's novel, entitled "One Shot at Forever," have been placed in our park libraries. One theme explored in Chris' nostalgic book is small town Illinois as he describes the amazing run of Macon (IL) High School's baseball team to the Illinois State Finals in 1971. This book has a connection to our local area, and, if anyone can figure it out, a specific connection to Wadsworth. When you are finished reading this delightful book, we kindly ask that you return the novel to one of our Little Free Libraries so as to allow others to enjoy the book as well.

Movie in the Park-
On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, starting around 8:30 p.m., please join other Village of Wadsworth residents for our free annual Movie in the Park. The film will be screened in Wadsworth Community Park just west of the Village Hall parking lot.
Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets filled with "goodies". And don't forget the bug spray!

Do you have items that are just too good to throw away? Are you looking to clean out your garage and basement, and maybe make a few dollars in the process? Then consider renting space at the Newport Township Historical Society's 2019 Rummage Sales. For only $10.00, for a 10' x 10' sales area, you can set up your own shop! Rental payments will be collected the day of the sales events.
Participation in these sales is open to all. The aforementioned $10.00 fee will go directly to support the Newport Historical Society.
This year, the rummage sales will be held at Wadsworth Community Park adjacent to the Village Hall.
Two dates are currently scheduled for these sales: Saturday, June 8, and Saturday, September 7. Each sale will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A vendor can begin setting up at 7:00 a.m. In case of rain, the sales will not be held.
Vendors must bring their own tables, set up their own items, clean up afterwards, and bring home everything that is not sold.
Please contact Kevin or Margie, at 262-694-0596, to hold your rental space. There must be a minimum of 10 participants in order to go forward with these events; vendor participation will be capped at 30.
