News of the Women's Caucus for Art
  New Hampshire Chapter

February 2020

The mission of the Women's Caucus for Art is to  create community through
art, education, and social activism.

In This Issue
Dear Members,

If you attended our Fall Meeting back in October, you will remember the interesting talk given by Tricia Soule from the NH Business Committee for the Arts (NHBCA). We decided it would be an advantage to our members to be a part of this state organization that brings together art and businesses, so WCA/NH has joined NHBCA as a non-profit member! That means that we will be sharing their events with you, and attempting to partner up with them any way we can in order to offer you new opportunities. In March they have a networking event scheduled at the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College in Hanover:

Artful Networking at The Hood Museum of Art
Thursday, March 5, 2020
5:00 - 7:00 PM
The Hood Museum of Art, 6 East Wheelock Street Hanover, NH,

John Stomberg, Director of the Museum will give an insider's tour. You can see firsthand one of the State's most revered art institutions which recently completed a $50 million expansion and renovation project. More information here.  https://www.nhbca.com/events-1/artful-networking-at-the-hood-museum-of-art .

Hope to see you there!

Breath of the Forest
The relationship between humans and nature is essential, symbiotic, inspiring, and problematic. Experiencing the forest via small encounters with wildflowers on our window sills, collecting leaves, listening to bird songs, savoring treasured rocks, or more immersive experiences that engage all of our senses like quiet walks on secluded trails, wading in ponds, bird watching, or exploring animal habitats provide opportunities to gather strength, to re-connect with the rich natural place we live in, and to simply take long breaths that calm and heal us.
How do you see your own relationship with nature and the forest? What aspects of forests or their natural ingredients inspire you? What do you focus on when you experience and respond to groupings of trees?
