April 2026

The Women’s Fund of Door County builds, enriches, and nurtures the lives of women and girls through collective wisdom and philanthropy.

Dear Friends,

Greetings from the Women's Fund of Door County!

This month, we’re celebrating the success of our recent Tales of Our Lives event and are introducing our newest board member.

We are also hard at work behind the scenes on new opportunities to support Door County’s women and girls. Stay tuned; we can’t wait to tell you more!

Tales of Our Lives 2026

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Tales of Our Lives.

On Saturday, April 11, we hosted approximately 250 people at Northern Sky's Gould Theater, where five storytellers recounted stories that were laugh-out-loud funny, nostalgic, harrowing, and most of all, TRUE.

We witnessed bravery, connection and performance, all of which were the culmination of months of work putting the stories together and setting it to music.

Among the stories shared, we learned about resiliency after life-changing illnesses and injuries, the courage needed for personal freedom and growth, and the continual need to rediscover oneself throughout all stages of life.

No matter the circumstances, each woman demonstrated how resiliency and perseverance made them stronger and wiser.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event!

We would like to extend extra-special thanks to:

  • Our storytellers: Sally Everhardus, Cherryl Fonfara, Cheri Miller, Tracey Robertson, and Betts Williams. Thank you for your honesty and courage to tell your story.
  • Tadych’s Marketplace for donating flowers.
  • Heidi Hodges Photography for capturing images of our event.
  • Northern Sky Theater for their collaboration and support of our slammers.

We look forward to seeing you at next year’s Tales of Our Lives.

If you were inspired by the stories you heard and would like to share your own story, contact the Women’s Fund of Door County at womensfund@givedoorcounty.org or complete our volunteer form.
