December 2021
The Women’s Fund of Door County builds, enriches, and nurtures the lives of women and girls through collective wisdom and philanthropy.
ARTrageous Fundraiser at Rehberger's Farm in Sister Bay
ARTrageous returned to the gorgeous Rehberger's Hidden Acres Farm in Sister Bay on September 18th. The art auction featured artwork created and donated by more than 40 women artists from Door County. Featured Artist Liz Maltman created Peony Party in oil for the raffle. The beautiful day was enhanced by the music of accomplished harpist Cheryl Murphy and by the wine provided by Firefly Outfitters. Best of all, funds were raised for the Women’s Fund’s sustainability grants discussed below. Financially, this year was the most successful ARTrageous.
Green Bay Packers Foundation Grant for Invest Dream Achieve
The Women’s Fund of Door County received a grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation in the amount of $3,000 to support Invest Dream Achieve (“IDA”). IDA is a collaboration between the Women’s Fund and NWTC providing financial literacy coaching, career planning, and savings match to Door County female students at NWTC. The IDA students continue to impress with their work at school, home, and in the community. The summer average GPA was 3.39 with five students achieving GPA of 4.0! This supportive program for students has grown to include more students with spots still available. As one participant noted, “It is amazing to me that there is a group of women [and men] that don’t know who I am but are willing to support me and my choice to return to school as an adult learner.”
