Bishop Watterson's St. Joseph of Arimathea Society held its induction during the All Saints' Day Mass again this year.
The SJAS is a pallbearer society under the patronage of St. Joseph of Arimathea, the man who took the body of Jesus from the cross and placed it in his own new tomb. Enjoy these facts about BWHS!

  • Bishop Watterson is the destination for many college admissions officers this fall! We currently have 79 visits scheduled, including The Ohio State University, Columbia University, Case Western Reserve University, University of Notre Dame, Catholic University of America, University of Chicago, Loyola University of Chicago, American University, Purdue University, Rochester Institute of Technology, St. Louis University, University of Kentucky, University of Colorado, University of Miami, Michigan State University, Xavier University, University of Dayton, University of Cincinnati, Miami University and Ohio University, among others.

  • Student-teacher ratio is a statistic that has been getting attention for many years. The assumption around this ratio: the smaller the ratio, the better the school. When we determine our ratio, we include every staff member who teaches classes or works directly with students to help them achieve their academic goals, such as guidance or intervention staff. Using this criteria, Bishop Watterson's student-teacher ratio is 11:1.

  • Bishop Watterson’s Dominican Program team is focused on helping students who need academic, emotional, and transitional support. The team, in collaboration with teachers, provides additional resources and instructions to meet each student’s unique needs, with the ultimate goal of preparation for college and life after high school.

  • Did you know we have math and writing tutors available to assist any student who would like help during study halls? Students can simply ask for help.

  • Service to the community is part of our sophomore theology curriculum. This year, BWHS students have placements at 92 community service organizations. In addition, an average of 70% of our students do volunteer work outside of their sophomore service projects.
