Chicago Urban League to Partner in Initiative Highlighting
Chicago 1919: Confronting the Race Riots
The Chicago Urban League is partnering with Newberry Library and several other project partners to present Chicago 1919: Confronting the Race Riots , a year-long initiative to heighten the 1919 Chicago race riots in the city's collective memory while engaging Chicagoans in public conversations about the legacy of the most violent week in Chicago history.

The year of programming will begin Saturday, February 23, with an introductory public conversation at the DuSable Museum of African American History. Read more here .

CUL Project Ready and Workforce Development Students Attend
3rd Annual Black Table Event at ABC Studios and Tour Northwestern
In celebration of Black History Month, CUL students from Project Ready and Workforce Development attended the 3rd Annual Black Table event hosted by Build Chicago. Held at ABC studios, The Black Table is a unique event that pairs Chicago’s most prominent African American leaders with 50 African American young people from across the city for a lunchtime dialogue about what it takes to succeed and make a difference in the world.

Meanwhile, a group of CUL Project Ready students toured the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston.
