Providing Mental Health Services—In Every Language
For more than six years, the Linn County Board of Supervisors has been working with mental health service providers, hospitals, and law enforcement to establish a center for responding to mental health crises. The dream became a reality in March 2021, when the Linn County Mental Health Access Center treated their first patient. A grant from the Community Foundation’s President’s Fund is helping the Access Center bridge the language gap with some area residents.

In-Person Nonprofit Events Return to the Community Foundation
The Community Foundation is excited to announce the return of in-person events, starting with Nonprofit Network Peer Groups in August. Additionally, the Nonprofit Party at the Park to be held on September 9, 2021, will celebrate the incredible work of nonprofit professionals who have helped to see our community through recent challenges.

Rachel Rockwell, Program Officer for the Creating Safe, Equitable and Thriving Communities Fund, was recently honored as one of the Cedar Rapids Gazette’s HER Women of Achievement. Rachel’s hard work has brought increased funding, awareness and action to address youth violence in Cedar Rapids.
