Old Colony Habitat is looking for future build sites.....
We are available to work with municipalities to identify underutilized city/town owned assets that can eventually be turned into income generating parcels of land that will increase the number of affordable homes and assist the city/town in reaching its goal of having 10% of the housing inventory designated as affordable. By utilizing the State’s Comprehensive Permit Program to further our mission of building decent and affordable housing opportunities, we can often build affordable homes on small parcels of land that are considered to be unbuildable.
We have built on lots as small as 7,000 sf, but find that parcels greater than 10,000 sf have more potential. Ideally these lots will have access to sewer, gas, water, electrical lines and require minimal site preparation that involve ledge and wetlands. Although we prefer access to sewer, we will not rule out land that requires a private septic system.
Although a majority of our homes are built on parcels in partnership with city and town owned property, we would be thrilled to receive donations from private land owners too.
If you have land that you believe is unbuildable and continue to pay taxes on, please consider a donation to Old Colony Habitat for Humanity and email [email protected]
