President's Message

WOW! I can’t believe I have been President of the local chapter for two years.

It has been such an honor to work with the AFP Board and to see all of you at our mixers, educational programs, and National Philanthropy Day.

Thank you for your contributions to our beautiful community of SLO County. As I said in my remarks at National Philanthropy Day, Philanthropy means “to love humankind.” Love powers everything we do from meeting with donors, executing events, volunteering, and giving financially to the causes we believe in. There is no greater power than love.

I hope to see many of you at our last lunch program of 2024 in December at the Region Event Center in downtown SLO. We will celebrate the end of the year together, vote on our board slate for 2025 and have some fun door prizes.

With Love and Gratitude,

Loren

For our nonprofit friends with small operating budgets under $2 million with less than 2 full time fundraising staff, you may want to consider a Small Nonprofit AFP membership. Recap of Our November Program

National Philanthropy Day

National Philanthropy Day was a testament to the abundance of generosity, philanthropy, and respect within our community. It was particularly meaningful to honor our award recipients, Ziyad Naccasha and Anneka Scranton, whose remarkable contributions have profoundly impacted our local area. Celebrating their dedication and achievements was truly a pleasure. The event was a spectacular occasion beautifully captured in the accompanying photos. We eagerly look forward to continuing this tradition of recognition and celebration in the coming year.
