President's Message

Dear Friends,

It’s a privilege to connect with you today!

Lately, I’ve been thinking about purpose. About core values. About how these guide us, even in the busiest, most overwhelming moments of our days. We operate within complex spaces – local, state, federal, and sometimes global. Our to-do lists are endless. There’s always an email waiting for a reply, a campaign begging for attention, and a challenge in need of immediate resolution. We’ve all felt the weight of these demands, like a heavy anchor pulling us down, down, down.

But amidst the rush and multitasking, I want to invite you to pause. To reconnect. Take yourself out for that cup of coffee – just you, a notebook, and your thoughts. Reflect on these three questions: Why are you here? What led you to this work? What values make you feel most alive?

Consider honestly the times when you have felt that your contribution to humanity was most useful. Remember who you are at your innermost core – without judgment. Remember who you are and reconnect.

When you center your work around your purpose and values, something extraordinary happens. Tasks, even the mundane ones, take on new meaning. Responding to that email means fostering a connection. Planning that campaign means making lives better. And in turn, you’ll notice you have less time for the energy drainers and distractions. When you focus on what matters most, you’ll push aside what doesn’t.

If reflecting on your core values feels hard right now, you’re not alone. And if you're struggling to identify them, or even if you’re unsure what they are, please reach out to me. I have some nice resources that can help you. It’s easy to lose touch in the whirlwind.

When you reconnect with your core values, the work becomes so much more than tasks on a list. Every action plays a role in something greater – sparing animals from harm, giving individuals the dignity of healthcare, or changing a young person’s life trajectory. When we operate from purpose, we do more than just accomplish. We transform.

Thank you for the meaningful work you do every day – for the people, causes, and communities that count on us. Together, we are creating real, lasting change.

Yours in inspiration and purpose,

Cozy Faber
