Send Us Your Letter of Intent!


The Undergraduate Student Research Competition is an opportunity for students to showcase their work to scientists, researchers, and other professionals attending Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada's Research Symposium via Zoom on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Our Research Committee has created a standardized clinical case study relevant to brain tumours. Participants will be asked to work in groups of 2-4 members. Grant proposals will be assessed via a two-step mechanism by the judging committee.


A letter of intent is due on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 4:30 pm (EST). The top three (3) winning teams receive monetary prizes.

Research Update

In 2021, Adrian Levine received our Richard Motyka Research Fellowship for his project entitled "Improving Precision Medecine for Pediatric Glioma: development of two novel clinical tests". The overall goal of this project is the development of two novel clinical tests to evaluate the level of activation of targetable cellular growth pathways and the degree of immune activation in the tumor microenvironment.

Overview of the New Survival and Prevalence Report


The new Brain Tumour Registry of Canada "Survival and Prevalence Report" builds on previous reports by providing the most up-to-date data on the survival experience of patients with primary CNS tumours in Canada, with estimates of net survival and median survival among all Canadians (excluding Quebec) diagnosed from 2010-2017.

In this video, Emily Walker, cancer epidemiologist and adjunct professor at the University of Alberta’s School of Public Health, gives an overview of the new Survival and Prevalence Report.
