Ramadan Kareem

Ramadan Kareem

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. A period of daily fasting from sunrise to sunset is frequently observed in Islamic tradition to commemorate Muhammad (pbuh) receiving the first revelation of the Qur'an.

Ramadan is also a month of charitable giving. Please consider a gift to support education and peace. Ramadan kareem!

Adapting to a shifting environment
Jim Thaden and students

The operating environment for non-governmental organizations working in countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan has become more and more tenuous over the years.

To accommodate the shifting overseas environment, CAI has made several changes to its operations.

"The conditions in the countries where we work might be constantly evolving, but our dedication to our mission remains constant," said Thaden. "CAI will continue to grow and adapt with the times, bringing education to the boys and girls of these volatile, conflict-ridden regions."

To learn more about changes and improvements to international operations, and progress in our projects and programs, check out our recently published 2014 Annual Report.

Businesses advocate for education
Education leads to brighter future

Is your business looking for a fun way to give back?

Do you believe that every child deserves an education? If so, help Pennies for Peace continue to promote peace through education, one penny at a time.

There are many ways to get involved:

  • Display a Pennies for Peace jar at your business to encourage staff and visitors to donate spare change.
  • How about a friendly competition to see which department can collect more pennies?
  • Donate a percentage of purchases.
  • Instead of that expensive cup of coffee, ask co-workers to donate that money to children in need.
  • Set an example and match employee giving.

When you donate, 100% of the funds go to support the schools, scholarships, and other overseas projects.

At home and abroad, CAI is committed to sharing its expert knowledge with the public.  Together we can cultivate peace, nurture hope, and change the world, one child at a time.
