News from the TBA A Message from Mark Kessler, as TBA President I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to warmer days coming soon. As your President, I encourage you to reach out to me or to TBA staff to express any challenges or concerns you may be facing that is hindering construction.  We all know that lumber pricing is crippling, combined with the fact that we are still facing several weeks of lead-time when ordering windows or appliances. The top focus of NAHB today is reaching out to the administration asking for lightning speed assistance in getting lumber mills to raise production to meet supply. This is one example of how important being a member of your local association is - NAHB and FHBA acting as your voice.   During the recent IBSX Mike Rowe, Dirty Jobs, was the keynote speaker. When asked why he cares about skilled trade jobs his answer was simple, he is addicted to paved roads, working electricity, and flushing toilets. Please recruit at least one new member to the TBA this quarter. We have Strength in Numbers to fight industry over-regulations.   Yours in service to the TBA,   Mark Kessler, as TBA President

Featured Builder of the Month! Derek Kasdorf, Kasdorf Design Build

Derek Kasdorf is the owner of Kasdorf Design | Build. A young company, having began in 2016, KDB transitioned to design | build, after seeing clients feel overwhelmed by the entire build process. There was too much gray area between purchasing the right lot to build on, to finding an architect/draftsman that would be willing to team up with a builder to streamline the process for the betterment of the client. They found that clients were frustrated and confused by the time they came to KDB, and the actual build process was unnecessarily stressful. Derek and his team guide their clients through the entire home building process so they can design, build and enjoy the home of their dreams.  Derek has been a member of TBA since 2017, and enjoys the mentorship he receives from veteran builders. As he continues to build his company and help clients, Derek takes the opportunity to learn from some of the best builders and businessmen in the industry, to work together to make Tallahassee and the surrounding areas, a great place to build, remodel and live.
