Member Spotlight: Moon Child PNW, a Curated Children’s Boutique in Downtown Olympia

Since opening in 2021, Moon Child PNW has become a community staple for families looking for thoughtfully curated children’s clothing in Downtown Olympia. The boutique feels bright, welcoming and intentional. Colorful racks hold stylish secondhand finds, soft bamboo sleepers, and everyday essentials ready to take home. Plushies from Olli Ella add an extra sense of whimsy throughout the shop.

As the only children’s resale shop downtown, Moon Child offers something unique: a space where mindful shopping and great style coexist.

Before opening the shop, Heather spent years thrifting for her own children. She loved finding affordable outfits that still felt stylish and well made. When the area’s last children’s resale shop closed during the coronavirus pandemic, she saw a gap in the community.

Pick up a physical passport at any participating business, or print yours at home. You’ll also find a full map of participating businesses on the site so you can plan your attack strategy.

Creatures of the PNW Chalk Art Celebration

Get ready to transform the sidewalk into a vibrant outdoor art gallery! "Creatures of the Pacific Northwest" is a celebration where young artists get to bring Cascadia’s amazing wildlife to life in front of Orca Books Cooperative in Downtown Olympia. 

Hosted by Orca Books and supported by the Olympia Downtown Alliance, this playful, community-filled day is designed to get kids outside, creating, and celebrating our local PNW critters. Whether they want to draw an Orca, a hidden Bigfoot, or a friendly banana slug, we provide the chalk, they provide the imagination!

Raffle Prizes

The fun doesn't stop when the masterpiece is finished. Every artist aged 6 to 18 who completes their chalk art can enter to win one of three giant prize baskets! Each prize is bursting with incredible goodies and gift certificates from local Olympia businesses.

Community Booths

Keep the celebration going! We are thrilled to welcome the South Sound Reading Foundation and Western Wildlife Outreach, who will be joining us to hand out free books and fun, educational activities for the kids.

Bingo Night & Silent Auction for the ABC Reparations Housing Campaign

Join the ABC Reparations Housing Campaign for an evening of fun, community, and fundraising on Sunday, June 7, from 6–9 pm at The Mystic Game Shop (211 4th Ave E, Olympia).

Discover some of downtown Olympia's inspiring women-owned businesses during a community walking tour on Saturday, June 6, from 11 am to 1 pm.

Hosted by Daniel Garcia of Heal Olympia Project and Megan of Olympia Boss Society, this guided tour offers a fun and welcoming way to connect with others, explore local businesses, and support Olympia's vibrant downtown community.

Whether you're a business owner, community member, or simply curious about downtown Olympia, everyone is invited to join! The tour begins at Percival Landing Park and concludes at Altitude 15.

Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to sharpen your artistic skills, Olyphant Art Supply offers a variety of welcoming, hands-on classes and workshops for artists of all experience levels.

Located in downtown Olympia, Olyphant's workshops include beginner-friendly classes in drawing, acrylic painting, oil painting, watercolor, comic creation, printmaking, and more. The shop also hosts regular figure drawing sessions that provide artists with a chance to practice and connect with Olympia's creative community.
