Daniel KL Chua To Give President's Endowed Plenary Lecture
The AMS is delighted to announce that Daniel KL Chua will deliver the AMS President's Endowed Plenary Lecture at the 2022 Joint Annual Meeting. Daniel Chua is the Mr. and Mrs. Hung Hing-Ying Professor in the Arts and Chair Professor of music at the University of Hong Kong and the current President of the International Musicological Society (IMS).

Timeline: When Proposal Decisions Go Out
The AMS plans to send proposal decision notices on 1 June. If you submitted a conference proposal and do not receive a notice by 2 June, contact us at events@amsmusicology.org. The deadline to edit accepted proposals is 11:59pm ET, 15 June 2022.

The Eileen Southern Travel Fund defrays travel costs to participate in the Annual Meeting for minority undergraduates and terminal masters degree candidates.Apply by 31 May 2022.
JULY 1: APPLICATIONS FOR ANNUAL MEETING TRAVEL GRANTS DUE
The AMS offers Annual Meeting Travel Grants to AMS members who have little or no financial support to travel to participate in the Annual Meeting. Apply by 1 July 2022.
TEACHING MUSIC HISTORY CONFERENCE REG OPENS
Registration is now open for the Teaching Music History Conference, to be held 10-11 June in Kansas City, Missouri, and accessible via livestream. Register by 6 May for discounted rates.

SEM TRAVEL AWARDS
The Society for Ethno-musicology (SEM) is offering several travel awards for the 2022 Annual Meeting. The deadline to apply is 15 July 2022.
SMT STUDENT PRESENTATION AWARD
The Society for Music Theory (SMT) annually gives the Student Presentation Award to a music student for a scholarly presentation at the Annual Meeting.
SMT SUBVENTIONS
The SMT Annual Meeting Grants Subcommittee considers special funding requests from standing committees, interest groups, and individual SMT members.
PEER LEARNING PROGRAM
SMT Peer Learning Program workshops are three-hour seminars led by prominent scholars intended to encourage "thinking together."
